Since they announced the name change internationally HoYoverse (myHoYo in China) opted for new releases that expand its license portfolio, as a result of the success of Genshin Impact.
We have the example of Zenless Zone Zero, an action RPG available on Game Pass, without forgetting the new simulation game in the style of Animal Crossing: Petit Planet.
There were rumors that HoYoverse’s next big project would be a AAA open world fantasy game with a large presence of AI, and we already have it here: it’s called Varsapura.
For now we don’t know its platforms or release window, but extensive official gameplay has been published on YouTube and social media.
Varsapura revealed a 31 minute gameplaythus presenting its characters, details of the world and tradition. Furthermore, it is also known that is in development with Unreal Engine 5.
It will most likely arrive on PC, mobile devices and PS5, although it could also see the light of day on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. For now it has not been confirmed.
Varsapura is miHoYo’s most ambitious game
Judging by what you can see in the gameplay, Varsapura is an open world game with GTA-style mechanics (it looks like Ananta, the promising sandbox Naked Rain), albeit under a fantasy framework.
It will be conducted with Unreal Engine 5, the Epic Games graphics enginein order to guarantee its portability on consoles, PC and mobile phones, presenting large scenarios full of NPCs.

The only thing we know about the announcement is a statement from SEAL (Shadow Emergency Alliance), which presents internal Directive 047-EX, with clear meta references. For example, It is said to be running on an RTX4090 graphics card.
It is also mentioned that the character’s appearance varies depending on the appearance of whoever plays him. I mean, that Varsapura would be a kind of metaverse.

Everything around Varsapura is a mystery. It’s as if they wanted to link it directly to real life, something like a simulator or extension of us within video games.
Varsapura is expected to appear at The Game Awards 2025, to reveal platforms, mechanics and launch window. Will it be a success similar to Genshin Impact?
