In less than a month we will be in cinemas Avatar: Fire and Ashthe new film of the science fiction saga directed by James Cameronwhere each installment is synonymous with box office success.
Released in 2009, the first chapter takes us to the year 2154 and follows the story of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a former marine condemned to live in a wheelchair who was chosen for an important mission: to go to the planet Pandora to extract a strange mineral that could solve Earth’s energy crisis.
To neutralize the toxicity of Pandora’s atmosphere, the Avatar program was created, thanks to which Humans keep their consciousness linked to an avatar: a remotely controlled biological body that can survive in deadly air.
Transformed into an avatar, Jake walks again and infiltrates the Na’vi, who have become the biggest obstacle to extracting the mineral. However, everything changes for our protagonist when the beautiful Na’vi Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) saves Jake’s life.
We had to wait a long time for its sequel (13 years, no more, no less), Avatar: The Sense of Waterwhere Sully has formed a happy family with Neytiri and they live in peace in the forests of Pandora until the skymen return.
Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait another 13 years to be able to enjoy James Cameron’s next chapter, where our protagonists will have to deal with a much less peaceful Na’vi clan.
