
One of the reasons (perhaps the most important) that explains the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is mobile games. In fact, those from Redmond were planning to launch a game store for iOS and Android, but so far they have not been able to do so.
We cannot forget that King, the talented Swedish developer, is responsible for Candy Crush, a global phenomenon on cell phones and tablets, which is now under the control of Microsoft after the purchase was completed.
And while there have been tough layoffs in King’s ranks (even with workers being replaced by AI), Mojang relied on the studio to announce the new minecraft game.
The building freedom and characters of Minecraft come together with the successful puzzle formula of Candy Crush to shape Minecraft Blast, a new game for iOS and Android mobile devices.
Minecraft Blast aims to be one of the most popular spin-offs of the Mojang game, although for now, Available only in testing phase for iOS users in Malaysia.
Mojang indicates that the game will be free to play (free download), and that they plan to carry out testing in other territories in the coming months, before releasing it as such on the App Store and Google Play Store.

Mojang Studios announces on the official Minecraft website that there are a new game in the franchise in development by Kingcreators of Candy Crush, being the first partnership between the two Microsoft studios.

Minecraft Blast is an F2P game that combines the settings, characters and building mechanics of Mojang’s game with the puzzle formula of Candy Crush. Additionally, players will be able to unlock new areas as they progress through each level.
The game offers quick and easy gamesperfect for playing anywhere (for example, while we go to work on the subway), although for now it will only reach cell phones.
”We are at a very early stage of this project and plan to begin running small, limited tests in select markets to help us gather initial feedback and engage our community early on.”, the statement mentions.
At the moment, Minecraft Blast can only be played (for free, of course) by those who have an App Store (iOS) account in Malaysia, although the idea is that will soon reach more territories in its testing phase.
The team clarifies that this test includes only a portion of all playable mechanics of the title, and also now we know that progress cannot be transferred to the final version when available.
”A small portion of content and features are available to test the game’s core mechanics. While the game is still in the early stages of development, it will evolve with additional content based on learning and feedback received.”.
