Pokémon ZA Legends was only recently released for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, but the Game Freak saga has already announced a new title that will hit stores in 2026. We’re talking about Pokémon Pokopiathe ”cozy” life simulator.
It was one of the surprises announced at September’s Nintendo Direct, as a new collaboration between Nintendo, The Pokémon Company and Koei Tecmo to focus on a different formula.
Pokémon Pokopia is a life simulator in the purest Animal Crossing stylewhich already has an official release date: it will be the next March 5, 2026 when it arrives exclusively on Switch 2.
In truth, you can book it now in physical format (be careful, as it is a key card) and also in digital format. What is promised is a debt, which is why a new (and extensive) trailer has already been published in Spanish.
The new trailer summarizes the story of Pokémon Pokopia: we are an anthropomorphic Ditto who has just woken up after a long sleep, only to find himself in a place almost abandoned by both Pokémon and humans.
That’s where it comes into play Professor Tangrowtha curious character who seems to be the evolution of Tangela, but at the same time resembles Professor Carvalho. You will become our guide on this adventure. This is the Pokémon Pokopia.
A second life with Pokémon: is there anything better?
Professor Tangrowth carries typical human tools, but it’s strange because he looks like just another Pokémon. Either way, you will ask us to transform your home into what it was before: an idyllic place for humans and Pokémon.

The game allows us to have a second life alone and in company (Features 4-player co-op), with countless things to do: explore, decorate our home, interact with other characters, recruit Pokémon to our cause and much more
Thanks to Bulbasaur we can cut weeds and plant, while Squirtle will teach us how to use the water gun to water the plants. Charmander will also be vital when lighting fires.
The mechanics of Pokémon Pokopia consist of improve each habitat so that new Pokémon live with ussomething like a Viva Piñata focused on the Nintendo saga.
To do this, we can use different movements that we learn from Pokémon, such as Foliage (to add more grass), Rock Smash, Slide, Surf and many others.
Other important characters in the story were also revealed: Palidachua very pale Pikachu with his ears lowered, Musgorlaxa Snorlax with moss on its body, and the Master Smearglea true artist whose body is full of colorful spots.
Pokémon Pokopia aims to be one of next year’s most promising releases. We’ll be available on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026, so pack your bags.
