Supergirl will break a DC rule of thumb with one of the villains in its next film

It will hit theaters next summer. Supergirlthe new film regarding the restart of DC Universe established by James Gunn and Peter Safran, directed by Craig Gillespiefilmmaker behind titles like Coup on Wall Street, Cruella any I, Tonya.

The film continues to address what is known as Chapter One: Gods and Monsters having seen so far Creature Commands, superman and 2nd season of The Peacemaker.

Based on the comics Supergirl: Woman of TomorrowThe film’s plot will follow Kal-El’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, played by Milly Alcock (Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon).

Feeling adrift and purposeless on her 21st birthday, our protagonist finds herself on a remote alien planet trying to drink legally under a red sun.

Soon his lonely melancholy is interrupted by Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young alien who seeks revenge on Krem of the Yellow Hillsthe mercenary who murdered his father and stole his family’s sword.

Kara reluctantly agrees to help embarking on a courageous mission across the galaxy with Ruthye and Krypto the Superdog to hunt down Krem.

In addition to Krem, the film will also feature one of the main villains: Lobea very popular character in DC comics. However, with the arrival of this enemy, a golden rule that has been applied for almost half a century is broken.

Supergirl will bring the former star of Aquaman

As everyone already knows, the role of the Wolf will be played by Jason Momoaa renowned actor behind titles such as A Minecraft movie, Game of Thrones any Fast and Furious.

However, for many, his best-known role is that of Arthur Curry in Aquamanprevious DC Universe film where he played the character in several of its productions.

This casting choice is more historic because breaks the 48-year rule for an actor to play a DC superhero and villain in live-action films.

Although he is presented as a villain in the film, it is assumed that the new DC Universe will establish the same guidelines as the comics and Lobo will end up becoming an antihero.

In addition to Milly Alcock and Jason Momoa, they make up the film’s cast Matias Schoenaerts (The old guard 2, The regime), David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer, The studio) and Emily Beecham (1899, Discovered).
