Today is a big day for the world of anime in Spain and especially for fans of One piecethe famous series of Eiichiro Oda. Do you know why networks are on fire, in the best sense of the word?
Exactly, the classic anime series Luffy and his nakamas underwent a revamp in Spain, and from today… you have the first 16 episodes available on Netflix in HD format and with a 16:9 aspect ratio!
But this is not the best of all, and with this new maneuver Toei Animation Europe, One piece received a completely new Spanish dub. Now it’s a pleasure to listen to the dialogues, as they are more faithful than ever to the original content!
As is usual in this type of dubbing, some voices have changed, but we have main characters who maintain the usual voice actors. Without going any further, Jaime Roca is still Monkey D. Luffy and Jorge Saudinos the swordsman Roronoa Zoro.
However, Nami and Usopp have not suffered the same fate and have changed their traditional voices, so they are now in charge of Marisa Marciel and Roberto Rodríguez respectively. But don’t worry, they did a spectacular job too!
Furthermore, in addition to these new features, they also surprised us with the dubbing of the episode trailers, something that was missing in the old Spanish version. And where are the disadvantages then? Did everything go perfectly with this new version of Netflix?
Well, if we’re being picky… They left us without the typical curtains we saw in the middle of the episodea classic of Japanese broadcasting (something quite strange if we take into account that it is a complete version of the series). Do you want another hit?
You will have to wait until December 15th to enjoy the next batch of episodes, which will cover chapters 17 to 31, and then you’ll have to wait another month to see episodes 32 to 61. And what happens next? Are they going to dub the entire series into Spanish or are they going to leave us halfway like before? Only time will tell.
