The arrival of ROG Xbox Ally introduced the integration of the Xbox ecosystem into a “consolidated portable PC”with all the advantages associated with the format. And that was just the beginning.
Microsoft’s proposal is to offer a lightweight navigation layer capable of launching into the Xbox app without loading the traditional desktop.
Now, the company is ready to take another step forward in portable devices with Windows 11: transfer that Xbox experience to other established PCs.

Starting November 21st, full-screen Xbox experience Can be enjoyed on ROG Ally X and other “consolidated” devices who use the Microsoft operating system; as reported by The Verge.
It’s about an interface designed for distraction-free gaming, optimized for small screens and designed to function as if the device were a portable console.
The feature is not new: debuted on ROG Ally models with Xbox integrationand later appeared in preview on the MSI Claw.
Now take the leap to become a generally available resource on any laptop or Windows 11 that meets the requirements.
This way, Secondary processes and services that usually run in the background in Windows are avoidedfreeing up memory and resources that translate into gaming performance.
These are all advantages: by eliminating the Explorer environment and its associated load, the full-screen experience greatly reduces system consumption.
Once the function is activated, the user will see the device launch directly into the Xbox app library. And there you can access games installed from different platforms.
What is more, Game Bar access and a revamped Task View are includedboth redesigned to be more comfortable on small screens and to be used with controllers instead of a keyboard and mouse.
Activation is very simple: you need to sign in Settings > Gaming > Full Screen Experience and set Xbox as the home application.
Once this is done, the device goes into full mode when turned on; Very useful if you want to use your laptop as if it were a traditional console.
In the case of desktops or laptops, the function will also be available soonalthough it will be released first through the Xbox Insider and Windows Insider programs.
The launch on November 21st is another step by Microsoft to optimize Windows on portable hardware; an area where, in the future, PlayStation will also compete.
