It’s almost time to go back to West. In a perfect world, we would have already done this, but HBO Max delayed the premiere of The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms in early 2026. Yesterday HBO Max made a press presentation with its upcoming projects, where the renewals of series such as The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms or, precisely, the dragon’s housewhich will end with its fourth season, as planned.
In addition to announcing the renewal, HBO presented two new images from the 3rd season of the dragon’s house. The first gifts Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) contemplating the crown inherited from her father, the king Viserys I. The second, however, foresees more action, with Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) leading a troop of soldiers from tully house.
This represents a notable change if we keep the original material in mind, since Fire and blood does not feature Daemon Targaryen in any of the main battles. It’s true that George RR Martin’s novel has enough gaps between its events to have to be filled in with skirmishes and so on, but that doesn’t seem to be the case in the picture.
It will be around the summer of 2026 that we will know to what extent things change the dragon’s houseand also if the action really starts to appear and we have less palace drama. That, in the end, a lot of lirili and little reading…
