As you well know, this year I started reviewing the anime of dragon ball for the umpteenth time, but this time… I’m enjoying it in its new original Japanese version!
And all thanks to the Blu-ray edition of the series that was released Select Vision in Spain. Not only does it have the best quality on the market, but it also includes a completely new translation, the most faithful to Japanese in memory.
Thanks to these new Spanish subtitles, you can enjoy the original series like never before, capturing all the details that were diluted in dubbing in our country and abroad. I’ll give you some examples!
On the one hand, thanks to this new edition, we know that the words we see in the house of Yamcha they mean Forged in fire. On the other hand, when Goku faces Oolong for the first time, release a doskoia typical Japanese interjection in the world of sumo wrestlers, something that was lost in the national dubbing.
And do you know what details we also discovered in the original version? Do you remember the episode where Yamcha was traumatized when he saw Bulma bathing in Oolong’s caravan?
Well, while Bulma takes a shower, the young woman starts to hum…Romantic Ageru Yothe series’ ending theme song, a wink to the viewer! If you don’t believe it, take a look at the episode 6 of dragon ball.
And be careful, this is not the only moment in which the work breaks the fourth wall. In fact, in an earlier episode, we see a pterodactyl turn on screen to face the viewers. And in the manga we also have similar cases!
