Disney launched its first anime production on its platform, Twisted Wonderlandwhose series is already the most popular on the global streaming charts.
On October 29th, Disney+ debuted in its catalog Twisted Wonderlandthe first series anime produced by The Walt Disney Company that adapts the popular video game of the same name for cell phones.
Combining the dark fantasy of anime with the isekai genre, the series’ plot follows the story of Yuken Enma, an ordinary high school student who is transported to Night Raven, a school where students learn to use magic.

The complex is divided into seven dormitories, each led by a different Disney villain. Among them are the Evil Queen of snow whiteMaleficent Sleeping BeautyScar The Lion KingUrsula The Little Mermaid and Hades Hercules.
The first season mainly focuses on “Heartslaybul”, the room run by the Queen of Hearts Alice in Wonderland. Unable to use magic, Yuken tries to find a way to return to his world while slowly adapting to the school and its peculiar student body.
Twisted Wonderland sweeps global streaming charts
With only three episodes broadcast Twisted Wonderland became one of the most watched series in the catalog of Disney+.
As collected Flix Patrol, Disney anime ranks fourth among the most watched series on Disney+ (as of November 8) in a ranking collected from more than 40 territories that allow subscriptions to the streaming platform.
Furthermore, shortly after the start of the series Twisted Wonderland catapulted to the top of the 2025 global popularity charts, which represents a great success for the production of Disney and Aniplex, the studio responsible for the also acclaimed anime Ground Leveling.
