At least twelve people were killed and about twenty others were injured today, Tuesday, as a result of a suicide attack near a court in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, authorities confirmed, without any party yet claiming responsibility for the attack.
Police sources, citing the Pakistani television network Geo TV, said that the explosion occurred in a car parked in front of a district court, which was later evacuated for security reasons.
The authorities sent security reinforcements to the site, in addition to experts to analyze the site of the explosion. The bomber’s severed head was reportedly found at the site, although there are no details about his possible identity yet.
