Military police arrested a 10-year-old boy driving a car in the city of Arenas, an area northwest of the state of Minas Gerais (about eight hours from the capital, Minas Gerais).
A silver Chevrolet Vectra caught the attention of police officers who were vigilant on Saturday night (11/15), in the city centre, due to its high speed and the fact that its driver was short in stature, which gave the impression that he was trying to hide.
Despite signals from the authorities to stop the car, the driver continued to flee and began a chase that reached the MG-202 highway, kilometer 396, where the car was intercepted. That’s when police discovered that the driver was actually only a 10-year-old child.

The child’s father was then called and told him that he allowed his son to drive to the family farm, but he followed him on a motorcycle. He also said that he did not know that the practice was illegal and that he himself taught his son to drive.
The father ended up being arrested and released after he pledged to attend the hearing about what happened. The car was also seized.
