Jeffrey Cecchini, lawyer of Lieutenant Colonel Rodrigo Bezerra Azevedo, complained about the reaction of Prosecutor Paulo Vasconcelos Jacobina during the oral argument in the first panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

Cecchini was responding to a question from the rapporteur of the case, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, about the possibility of taking a photo of Bezerra on his birthday, on December 15, when the plan to “neutralize” the authorities will be implemented.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s funny. The prosecutor is laughing while I’m talking. I don’t know what’s funny about that,” Chikweni said.
Cecchini was the first to deliver oral arguments when the trial of the third group defendants returned, on Wednesday (12/11). This group consists of Army soldiers and a federal police officer, known as the “Black Kids.” Analysis began on Tuesday and resumed at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday (12/11).

The Public Prosecutor’s Office (PGR) has convicted the group for five crimes, including an attempted coup. This nucleus, according to PGR, will be responsible for monitoring and planning attacks against the authorities of the Republic.
The Federal Police found that the nucleus had prepared the plan called the “Green and Yellow Pistol”, which envisaged the assassination of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

During the oral argument, Cecchini refuted PGR’s accusations that Rodrigo Bezerra had a “leading role in field actions, aimed at monitoring and neutralizing public authorities.”
Cecchini stressed that Bezerra did not even participate in the meetings held at the home of General Braga Neto, on November 12, 2022, nor at the home of Márcio Nunes de Resende’s father, on November 28.

The lawyer provided photographs of the client at the club and at dinner. He then refuted the possibility of Rodrigo Bezerra’s participation in carrying out the plan against the authorities on December 15. Bezerra ordered food from his home for dinner on that date, Cecchini said.
Moraes then asked for photos of Rodrigo Bezerra’s birthday, and also provided other dates. Chikweni explained that he did not have the applicant’s extraction report; So I couldn’t get the picture. He also said that the photos shown in the files were taken from the cell phone of Rodrigo Bezerra’s wife.
Cecchini requested that the client be acquitted due to “refusal of authorship.”
