Messi’s plans for the future

In a recent interview with NBC News, the 38-year-old Argentine explained that he intends to compete in the 2026 World Cup, but stressed that he will evaluate his physical condition in the coming months to make a decision.
“I will evaluate this day by day when I start the pre-season next year with Inter Miami. I will see if I can really be 100%. If I will be useful to the group, to the team”, said the national star.
Messi also stressed the importance of wearing the Argentina shirt again in any official competition. “We came out winners of the last World Cup, but to be able to defend it on the pitch again is amazing. So, playing for the national team is always a dream,” he said.
