This week I saw Katy Perry in concert and… What a perfectly executed mess! that it Presentation woman amazing. It has it all: great songs, charisma, the perfect show…and stories to tell.
Perry knows a lot about breakups. When I saw her walk out on stage at Movistar Arena, I was reminded of her documentary Part of me. In the video, we saw her breaking down in the dressing room after receiving an SMS from Russell Brand, who was her partner at the time – for a comedian, the kid wasn’t very funny. She cried for five minutes, breathed for two minutes, put on her wig…and came out singing while smiling. Years later, his breakup with Orlando Bloom also led to him touring. I was moved to see her sing Bandageshis last song dedicated to Pirates of the Caribbean. An example of popular brilliance and flexibility: Yes, yes, but with Eyeliner Flawless. That’s why Katie fascinates me. In a world where no one is ready to say goodbye, She turns breakups into choreographies. And she’s not the only one.
There’s been a lot of talk this week about Javis’ breakup. It seemed like a love armored with success and they had absolute complicity, But even the strongest bonds transform. And nothing happens. Or yes, but you learn. Sometimes life shows us that “forever” is a beautiful concept…but impractical.
And between a lot of passing drama, The heart begins to understand that letting go does not mean surrender.. Realizing that we are no longer the same also means growing, and this sometimes includes letting go of those who are no longer heading in the same direction as you. Not all stories are designed to last a lifetime. Some last long enough to convert us.
This is why Katy Perry doesn’t go bankrupt: she reinvents herself. The ending is painful, but right after that, another song begins. That’s why it’s better to fall but with shine.
