A fire in an apartment on Fuencarral Street left ten people injured, two of whom were taken to hospital

On Wednesday, firefighters from the Madrid City Council extinguished a fire that broke out in an apartment at Gate 10 of Fuencarral Street, in the heart of Madrid. The accident resulted in ten people suffering from minor poisoning due to smoke inhalation. Two of Those who were inside the house needed to be transported to the hospital. The events took place around 1:15 p.m., on a busy Madrid road. The capital’s emergency services moved there and rescued and treated many people.

Two of them, who were in the house where the fire broke out, were taken to the San Carlos Clinical Hospital and the Jiménez Díaz Foundation with mild to moderate poisoning. Six others were removed from the scene, two of them National Police agents, who did not request transportation.

Initial indications indicate that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit, which led to a large amount of smoke rising. At the moment, the municipal police are keeping access closed and facilitating the movement of emergency vehicles in the area.
