
A 16-year-old teenager was hospitalized after being shot in the back of the head with a pellet gun, on Sunday afternoon (11/9), during a meeting between friends inside an apartment in Santa Bárbara de Oeste, inside São Paulo. The gunfire was accidentally fired by one of the young men who were at the scene.
According to the military police, a team was called to deal with the incident. At the scene, officers discovered that the victim was with three of his friends at the home of a minor, when they seized a BB gun from the homeowner.
They were playing video games when the apartment resident took his mother’s gun to show it to his colleagues, who took the opportunity to handle the weapon. The woman was not home at the time of the accident.
At some point, according to the incident report, one of the youths was holding the gun when he accidentally fired a shot that struck the victim in the back of the head. Rescue was called and the injured man was taken to the Edison Manu emergency room.
The teen was taken to Santa Barbara Hospital, where he remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Required by CapitalsThe Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) reported that the case was registered as an offense similar to bodily harm at the Santa Bárbara de Oeste Police Station. The civil police are investigating the case.
