For the Ministry, Retiro Abierto is “the convergence of all the actors that make Retiro a unique neighborhood. It is to meet again with that historical and symbolic solitude, to rediscover it and to connect again with that vital energy that it knew how to possess and which it still possesses, although today in a different way.“.

The proposal acts as an urban experience that allows new ways to meet, trade and enjoy one of the city’s most emblematic – and sometimes little-known – sectors.

For the Ministry, the initiative has two specific goals. “There is an economic impact: galleries and their artists can become more known; there are even specific tours for collectors. We also aim for gourmet restaurants to be able to sell more, as well as hotels,” they explained. And the other goalLong-term positioning: Promote the Retiro in terms of tourism and ensure that the city government supports the development of this emblematic neighbourhood“.
