For his part, Santiago Oliveira, President of the Academy, stressed the importance of recognition: “Of the many ways in which a discipline can develop and evolve, consistent practice is one of the most important. This practice is performed by professionals, some of whom give it an invaluable boost. Today, the Academy distinguishes four of them, and they serve as references and guides for all of us who participate in the field of advertising. It is a pleasure to move forward with this special mission set by those of us who had the dream of creating this academy for ourselves.
In the same vein, Miguel Dachota, Vice President of the Academy, highlighted the spirit that guides the institution: “We want it to function like academies of other disciplines: thinking and doing academic work and producing knowledge about our activity. This is the main goal. At the same time, we strive to keep the legacy of people who have added value to advertising alive in new generations. Meetings, seminars, and academic excellence are part of this path.
