The new captain faces the challenge of saving Inter from relegation
Today, Saturday, Internacional confirmed that Abel Braga will return to lead the team in the final two rounds of the Brazilian championship. This will be the coach’s eighth spell at the club, where he has already managed 340 games – a number that makes him the coach who has led Colorado for the most times.
Appel won important titles for Inter, such as the Club World Cup and CONMEBOL Libertadores in 2006, in addition to the Gauchos Championship in 2008 and 2014 and the Dubai Cup in 2008. His last period ended in 2020, when he led the team to second place in Brazil, competing for the title until the final round.
The coach will begin his work on Sunday, at the CT Parque Gigante stadium, alongside the permanent technical committee. Elio Caravetta also returns to the club, and will join the working group for this new challenge.
Abel arrives with a mission to avoid landing. The situation became more sensitive after Vitoria’s 2-0 victory over Mirasol on Saturday in El Salvador. The result lifted Bahian into 15th place and pushed Inter into the relegation zone, with only two matches remaining in the Brazilian league.
