Actor Jeremy Renner, best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has filed a lawsuit in a US court after he was accused of sending intimate photos without permission to Chinese director Yi Zhou.
In the legal memorandum, he refutes the director’s report, noting that she was the one who “crossed professional boundaries” by trying to get personally involved with the star.

“When someone, no matter how powerful or famous, sends unsolicited sexually explicit material to a stranger, it is an abuse of boundaries,” he wrote. But the relationship between the two artists was going to continue after the episode, as shown in the photos that she shared in the post. Weeks later, during a business meeting, Chu reported that Renner became excited after drinking a bottle of wine.
She said: “I had to lock myself in a room to stay safe, and I prayed to God that he would not come at night because I was really angry. I did not say a word, I was so afraid for my life.” The director also stated that she confronted him, but the actor threatened to report her to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). “It shocked me and scared the hell out of me,” he recalls.
Jeremy Renner refutes the accusations
In a “cease and desist” note against the director, Jeremy Renner called Yi Zhou’s accusations “false, fabricated and sensational lies.” He claims in court that it was the director who crossed the actor’s personal boundaries after holding a “consensual meeting” between Disney contractors.
Their relationship, according to the actor, ended in August of this year. However, after the alleged breakup, Renner claims he received “hundreds of explicit messages” from her asking them to resume their relationship. Finally, he accused her of trying to defame him after she disapproved of their romantic involvement.
The star responded, “She tried to blackmail me to make it seem like we had a romantic relationship, which never happened.” The Marvel representative also says the accusations were prompted after he did not agree to promote projects led by Cho.
