The app driver was stabbed in the neck by Elias Alves dos Santos Filho (Featured image) aged 37, was discharged from Sealandia Regional Hospital (HRC) on Tuesday (11/11). For the family, recovery is the result of “God’s hand.” He had been hospitalized since October 26, after a passenger attacked him.
Elias’ wife, Sinara de Albuquerque Santos, said: “Great recovery! I clearly see the hand of God working at all times, using the hands of the doctors and the entire team involved in this operation.”
The driver was taken out around 12:30 p.m. Now, Elias is waiting for an appointment for a peripheral nerve evaluation, as he still cannot move his right arm.
Elias was stabbed by a passenger while traveling in the Federal District (DF). Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the victim was admitted to the intensive care unit at HRC.
He added: “As for the investigation into the case, I sincerely hope that justice will be achieved, and that this person will be held accountable for all the damage he caused to Elias’s life and our family.”
Attack while running
Elias made the trip to Águas Lindas de Goiás (GO) and received a new order to race the Quadra 201 in Recanto das Emas (DF).
Fear of being robbed was the justification given by the 41-year-old suspect to the civil police for the brutal attack he committed against the app driver.
According to the author’s report, the driver changed his route and a car began following him, making him believe that he was being led into an ambush. The passenger was supposedly overcome with fear, pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the victim several times in the neck, seriously wounding him.
Even the wounded
Despite his serious injury, the driver managed to drive to the HRC, where he crashed into a pole in front of the unit. He was rescued immediately.
According to the investigation conducted by the 15th Police Station (Ceilândia Centro), the suspect had been drinking alcohol after a family reunion. The race was requested by the author’s brother at his request.
After the accident, the passenger fled and hid in a forest area, where he sent voice messages to his brother confessing to the stabbing. Shortly afterwards, his brother rescued him and brought him home.
The next day, the man threw his blood-stained clothes in the trash and fled again. The pieces were located and seized by investigators.
On Monday afternoon (10/27), the suspect spontaneously presented himself to the 15th Police District, accompanied by two lawyers. During questioning, he admitted to the crime, but insisted he acted out of fear, claiming he “reacted instinctively” to the supposed threat of robbery.
The case is still under investigation.
