After the Libertadores, the NBA athlete unveils the Flamengo team; check it out

It’s not just Jimmy Butler who is a Flamengo fan in the NBA. This Saturday (11/29), after Rio won the Libertadores, Joe Embiid also showed his support.

The star of the biggest basketball league in the world, the Philadelphia 76ers player, expressed his enthusiasm for the Flamengo’s achievement on social media. “Let’s go flamingo man***,” he wrote.

The final match between Palmeiras and Flamengo was held at the Monumental UV Stadium in Lima, Peru, and ended with a victory for the Red and Black. The decisive goal came in the 21st minute of the second half with a perfect header from defender Danilo after a corner kick.

With this victory, Flamengo won the Copa Libertadores for the fourth time. Until then, Rubro-Negro had won the tournament in 1981, 2019 and 2022.

Flamengo’s season in the 2025 edition was marked by defensive solidity: throughout the Libertadores, the team scored 12 goals and conceded only 5, one of the most consistent performances in the tournament. In the knockout stage, defensive security proved crucial, along with experience in decision-making.
