Alberto Cilione, who left his position as Director of Culture and Education in Buenos Aires Province for personal reasons, confirmed that he would leave “without conflict with anyone”, while expressing his gratitude to Governor Axel Kiselov. He said in an interview with a radio program: “I will leave my position, but without conflict with anyone.”
“The matter was discussed a lot with the governor and I am very grateful to him,” the former Buenos Aires official noted in the interview.
In addition, Cellione stressed that he “wants to continue working, but from another place,” and stressed that “imposing religious doctrine in public administration schools takes many years.”
At the same time, he expressed: “This national government is always fragmenting society. The nation has abandoned the goal of allocating 6% of GDP to education.”
Statement from the governorate
It must be remembered that yesterday Governor Axel Kiselov confirmed the change in his government by announcing that Flavia Terregui will be the new Director General of Culture and Education of Buenos Aires, replacing Cilioni.
The Ministry of the Interior said in a brief statement that Kiselov will send to the Legislative Council tomorrow “the appointment document for Flavia Terighi” instead of Cellione, “who will leave his position for personal reasons.”
He adds statements from Cilioni in which he thanks Kiselov “for the opportunity and honor he gave me to be at the head of the educational system in Buenos Aires, as well as the decision to place education at the center of its government administration. Curriculum shifts, regional presence, proximity to schools, and infrastructure development were among the priorities in these years of work.”
“We are very proud of the people who make up our education system: students, teachers, assistants, collaborators, officials, trade union organizations and families,” concludes the text, in which it is made clear that Cellione “will continue to accompany Governor Axel Kiselov from elsewhere.”
