Alvaro Domec RomeroAn icon of Torstrella’s bullfighting and cattle ranching, he died this morning at the age of 85. He was born in Jerez de la Frontera on April 8, 1940 and He was the son of bullfighter and cattle rancher Alvaro Domec Diez.one of the most famous epics of Jerez.
A bullfighter and cattle breeder, he was the founder of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Arts. He also demonstrated “How Andalusian Horses Dance,” which served as a way to show the world his work with these animals and the skill of his riders. He later became the honorary patron of this institution.
Alvaro Domec made his first public appearance on September 13, 1959 in the Ronda bullring. He said his farewell on October 12, 1985 at the bullring in Jerez de la Frontera, after a wonderful career in bullfighting on horseback. He was part of the “Four Horsemen of Apotheosis” along with Ángel, Rafael Peralta and José Samuel Lope.

Domec Romero has taken the reins of one of the most emblematic farms in Campo Bravo: Torstrella. At the Los Alborjos ranch, he maintained the concept of courage he inherited from his father and took this Cádiz emblem to the main fairs of the bullfighting arena.
After his extensive career, he has been recognized on many occasions. He was awarded the Andalusia Medal 2024 in the “Overthrow of Andalusia” category; Favorite son of Jerez; Gold Medal from the Association of Bullfighting Schools of Andalusia; Tourist Group Award; Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau Prize from the Academy of Diplomacy; And the International Horse Award.
