Russian fitness trainer Dmitry Noyanzhin, 30, has died after undertaking an extreme eating challenge he was sharing with his followers. The suggestion, according to what he posted on Instagram, was to gain weight quickly by eating excessive amounts of food and then starting a weight loss program that the public follows.
According to its contents, he was eating about 10,000 calories a day in the weeks before his death. Dmitry’s stated goal was to demonstrate a “reverse transformation”: first, aggressively gaining weight and then losing weight with his followers, as part of a project he intended to monetize.

In this process, the Russian published that he had exceeded 104 kilograms on November 18, an increase of approximately 13 kilograms in a few weeks. Pictures circulating on Instagram show large dishes, meals rich in fats and carbohydrates, and comments about the fatigue and malaise that began to appear.
Days before his death, Dimitri canceled training and said he was going to see a doctor because he was not feeling well. According to the report published by the family to the Russian press, he suffered a heart attack while he was sleeping.
The case reignites debate about the risks involved with radical body changes and eating challenges meant to be shared on social media.
The method used by Dmitry is very dangerous because the body is not prepared to deal with such rapid increases in weight and calories. Consuming 10,000 calories a day means increasing the burden on the cardiovascular system, suddenly increasing blood pressure and putting the heart under constant stress.
Furthermore, diets high in fat and cholesterol—which are largely present in the meals he showed—increase the risk of metabolic changes and inflammation. Despite being a fitness professional, the sudden body changes and pace imposed by the challenge completely deviated from any health recommendations.
The influencer’s death caused major repercussions among followers, professionals in the field, and content creators, who lamented the tragedy and criticized the challenges that encourage extremist behavior.
Many comments on social media have drawn attention to the aesthetic pressure and search for quick results intensifying on digital platforms, where physical transformations tend to go viral and generate significant engagement.
Dmitry Noyanzin’s story is a warning about the dangers of aggressive diets, excessive calorie intake, and the challenges of compromising health when producing content.
