
The Moroccan authorities reported, on Wednesday, that they had arrested in the city of Tetouan (north) a sympathizer of the Islamic State jihadist organization, who was planning an “imminent” terrorist attack.
The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations indicated that the detainee was 26 years old, and that he “was about to carry out an imminent and extremely dangerous terrorist plan aimed at seriously disrupting public order.”
The operation carried out by the security forces allowed the seizure of a “large” knife that the suspect, who had attracted attention by publishing content about ISIS terrorist operations on social media networks, “planned to use to implement his terrorist plans.”
The Central Bureau of Judicial Research also indicated that the searches carried out within the framework of this case also made it possible to seize the flag of the aforementioned terrorist organization in the suspect’s home, MAP reported.
