Finally, Andres Gomez became frustrated with Vasco. One of the reinforcements of the recent transfer window, the Colombian striker scored for the first time wearing a Cruz Maltina shirt on Friday (28), against Internacional, in São Januario, in matchday 36 of the Brazilian League. Therefore, the player celebrated the goal and showed his satisfaction.

The Colombian striker, who expressed his regret for the goal Vasco conceded in stoppage time of the first half, said, “Very happy with my first goal. I was really looking forward to scoring.”

He added: “We conceded a goal, but I think the referee made a mistake in scoring the goal. Now we have to start the second half the same way we started the first half and come out with a win.”

With an overwhelming start, Vasco made it 2-0 in less than ten minutes. After a hat-trick, Andres Gomez opened the scoring. During the play, the striker stole the ball from Aguirre, stormed into the penalty area and kicked a corner kick. Thus, he scored his first goal with a Vasco shirt. Soon after, at the age of eight, Cruz-Maltino expanded with Ryan after playing Paulo Henrique on the right side.

Vasco signed Andres Gomez on loan from French club Rennes in August this year. The 22-year-old Colombian striker signed a contract until June 2026. The agreement actually stipulates the obligation to buy around 4 million euros (about 25 million Brazilian reals) for 60% of the rights. In total, the player played 16 matches and scored one goal and four assists.
