One day after announcing the renewal of his contract with Flamengo until 2028, Arascaeta received a tribute at the Maracana on Sunday, before the match against Santos, in the Brazilian League. The midfielder was signed in 2019 and could last ten years at the club.
A moment before the team took to the field to warm up, Arascaeta received a shirt bearing the number 2028 from the hands of football director Jose Boto. He was accompanied by his wife Camila Bastiani and businessman Daniel Fonseca.
The Uruguayan couple is expecting their first child, and they also received red and black children’s clothes that revealed the child’s name: Milano. Everyone received warm applause from the fans in the stadium.

The new agreement between Flamengo and Arascaeta was signed last Friday, at the CT George Hilal Stadium, and also provides for the automatic extension of the bond for another season – until 2029 – if the Uruguayan achieves the goals set between the two parties.
Number 10 played 348 official matches for the Red and Black, scoring 95 goals and making 104 assists. Last Wednesday, in a draw with Sao Paulo in the Brazilian League, he scored from a penalty kick and became the greatest foreign scorer in the club’s history, surpassing the Argentine Duval, who played with Flamengo between 1969 and 1975 and scored 94 goals.
The relationship between player and club has resulted in 15 titles: two CONMEBOL Libertadores (2019 and 2022), two Brazilian Championships (2019 and 2020), two Brazilian Cups (2022 and 2024), three Brazilian Super Cups (2020, 2021 and 2025), one Recopa Sul Americana (2020), and five Carioca Championships (2109, 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025).
