At least 12 people were killed and about 20 others died after a suspected suicide attack in a local court in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed. There is still no claim of responsibility for the attack.
Police sources, quoting the Pakistani Geo TV channel, indicated that the explosion occurred next to a car that was parked in front of the district court, which was evacuated later. According to Naqvi, the terrorist tried to enter the judicial headquarters on foot, but waited at the door for 10 to 15 minutes, so he detonated the explosive device outside, near a police car.
The authorities sent security personnel there, in addition to experts to analyze the location of the explosion. Some sources indicate that the severed head of a suicide terrorist was found, but so far there are no details about his identity.
