Brazilian skater Augusto Accio, world champion at Parc Mudali and Olympic medalist in Paris, said his expectations are high for this weekend’s competition on the STU Rio Pro Tour.
“The energy will be very high and the standard of skating will be very high. I really love this track and its design. It’s a project, initially, designed by Bob Burnquist himself. So, there’s a story behind it that ends up adding more emotion to our emotions when we come to compete here,” he said.
The athlete will compete in this category alongside experts such as Luigi Cini, Gui Khoury, Pedro Barros, Colin Graham and Yuro Nagahara. Akio said during a press conference that he is excited to walk the Praça Duó track in Barra da Tijuca (RJ).
He commented: “Here at STU, it is a somewhat more democratic rink, because it is not only designed for the highest level of skating in the world. In fact, it is a public rink, so many children, young people, adults, even elderly people and people with disabilities come here. Many do not even train to compete, and are not preparing to win titles, but they come here to use the space and do sports for love, entertainment and as a hobby.”
