Bab provokes Leila Pereira after Flamengo’s quadruple in the Libertadores

Lightning struck twice in the same place. Flamengo repeats 2019 for the second time in history.. Won the Libertadores in Lima, Peru. In this way, it became the first Brazilian team to win the continental championship four times. After the final, president Luiz Eduardo Baptista recalled a conversation with Leila Pereira, the leader of Alviverde, and joked about the situation.

“Yesterday (Friday) I mentioned jokingly to Leila (Pereira) at the CONMEBOL event that lightning does not strike twice in the same place (referring to Palmeiras’ win over Flamengo in the 2021 final). She asked for the floor afterwards and she said: ‘Yes, it happens’. I was thinking to myself here, she was right. In Lima, it happened,” Pap said jokingly.

With this title, Flamengo became the first Brazilian team to win the Libertadores Championship four times. However, the year is not over yet. After all, Rubro Negro could win another title. After all, next Wednesday (3), they could become Brazilian champions in case of victory over Ceara, in the Maracanã. Therefore, Papp stressed that the goal is to “win everything,” and praised Miras and the price of the achievement.

“The goal is to win everything. I joined Flamengo to win everything, literally. Everyone wants to win, right? You can’t just want it. But the goal has always been (…) Palmeiras is very strong and respectable. For Brazilian football, it was exceptional to have a final of this size and scale. Beating an opponent like Palmeiras is something special and very exciting,” Papp concluded.
