The leadership battle is heating up. Real Madrid’s draw in Vallecas and Barcelona’s victory in Vigo left the Blaugrana with just three points in the standings after the first 12 rounds.

Villarreal does not give up, and after its victory in Cornella over Espanyol, it consolidates third place with 26 points. Atletico is still on its way to progress, having added another important win at home to Levante, including a brace from Griezmann, and closes out the champions’ zone with 25 points.
Below, Valencia and Mallorca have left the relegation zone and are taking a break before the national team break. Los Che tied at home against Betis (1-1) and did not win in seven matches. Vermillions beat Getafe with a goal from Son Moix thanks to a goal from Muriqui.
Now, Girona, Levante and Oviedo are the three teams in the relegation positions.
