On Monday (10), Braskem and the state of Alagoas signed an agreement related to the geological event that occurred in the state, providing for the payment of a total of R$1.2 billion, of which R$139 million has already been paid.
The balance must be repaid in ten variable annual installments, especially after 2030, taking into account the company’s ability to repay.
Braskem had already allocated R$467 million (September 2025 basis) in previous years to compensate for property damage in the state of Alagoas.
The Agreement provides for indemnification, indemnification and/or indemnification to the State of Alagoas for full compensation for any and all pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages to the State, giving the Company full release from any damages arising from and/or related to the geological event in Alagoas, including the extinction of the Alagoas State business, subject to judicial approval.
“The signing of the agreement represents a major and important step forward for the Company regarding the impacts resulting from the geological event in Alagoas. Braskem will keep the market informed of material developments on this subject, in accordance with applicable legislation,” the company announced in a relevant fact.
