Bruno Henrique could be about to play his last game in a Flamengo shirt in 2025. The striker has been included in the match against Santos, and is valid for the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship, which will be held on Sunday evening (9), at the Maracanã Stadium.
The player will be tried next Monday (10) by the Full Court of the Supreme Court of Justice for Sport (STJD) due to the yellow card he received in a duel against Santos himself, in November 2023. On that occasion, the athlete warned his brother that he would be warned, from which the bettors took advantage.
In a preliminary trial, Bruno Henrique was suspended for 12 matches, in addition to a fine. However, the player’s defense achieved a stopping effect that made him able to play for Rubro-Negro.
Now, the STJD Prosecutor’s Office has appealed the decision, and a new trial could result in a harsher sentence. If the conviction is confirmed, the striker could miss the final eight matches of the season, making the encounter against Santos his farewell to the pitch in 2025 wearing a Flamengo shirt.
