Directed by Karolina Gabor. Julio Andrade, Wilson Rabelo, and Yara De Novais are also part of the cast. It is adapted from the novel “Dans le jardin de l’ogre” by French-Moroccan writer Leila Slimani. Carolina signs the script with Rita Beaver and Victoria Vesco.
The story revolves around Julia, a successful journalist who lives in a comfortable apartment in São Paulo with her surgeon husband and their young son. Although she seems to be living the good life, she is hiding a secret under lock and key: her coercion into risky sex.
When her husband suggests that the family move to a rural town, she sees the situation as an opportunity to abandon her self-destructive behavior and become the mother and woman she always wanted to be. However, as change approaches, her coercion intensifies, threatening to expose her secrets and destroy her family.
The partnership between Globoplay and Disney anticipates four films. The first, yet to be released, was “Na Linha de Fogo”, directed by Afonso Boyart, and produced by AfroReggae Audiovisual.
