Chiara Ferragni, who was processed in Italy, announces herself in Brazil

“It’s one of my favorite countries,” the digital influencer said.

Influencer Chiara Ferragni, who is facing a lawsuit in Italy for fraud in charitable campaigns, spent three days in Sao Paulo last week for business activities.

On her personal Instagram page, on Sunday (30), the businesswoman said that Brazil is one of her “favorite” countries and thanked it for the “wonderful energy.”

“It was my third time in São Paulo and the fifth time in one of my favorite countries, Brazil. I can’t wait to come back again,” Ferragni wrote, mixing English and Portuguese.

One of the influencer’s participations in the capital, São Paulo, was an event on Avenida Faria Lima, the heart of the Brazilian financial market, where she spoke about career and entrepreneurship, according to the Metropolis portal.

Ferragni is the most followed digital influencer in Italy, but faces a lawsuit on suspicion that he unjustifiably benefited from €2.2 million (R$13.6 million) from the sale of pandoros (typical Italian Christmas sweets) and Easter eggs linked to charity.

The products, which were sold between 2021 and 2023, bore the image of the businesswoman and promised to transfer the proceeds to a children’s hospital in Turin and a non-governmental organization targeting minors with disabilities.

However, investigators discovered that donations were made before the campaigns began and in amounts much smaller than those collected later. Amid the negative repercussions of the case, which led to the loss of several advertising contracts, the influencer donated 1 million euros (6.2 million Brazilian reals) to the hospital and 1.2 million (7.4 million Brazilian reals) to the non-governmental organization in question.

However, this was not enough to avoid prosecution, and the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office had already requested that Ferragni be sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. Ferragni confirmed in court last week: “We did everything in good faith, and no one benefited from it.” .
