CONMEBOL made a mistake in an exhibition inside the Copa Libertadores fan zone in Lima. In the space where there are the shirts used by Palmeiras and Flamengo in their three championship titles, the entity made an error in Alverde’s uniform since the 1999 victory.

A plaque on the site indicates the year of Verdão’s first surname, along with the name of Cesar Sampaio. However, the shirt displayed there dates back to 2001. In this edition, Palmeiras reached the semi-finals and were eliminated by Boca Juniors, on penalties.

CONMEBOL explained that it used the shirts found in its museum in Paraguay, and that the piece dates back to 1999. The responsible departments have already been notified of what happened and are working to replace it with the correct shirt.

The entity opened the space to the public on Wednesday (27) and will remain open until Friday (29) for interactive actions with fans in Lima. Free admission.
