David Ancelotti analyzes the mistake and says Botafogo could have won

Corinthians and Botafogo tied 2 x 2, on Sunday (30/11), at the New Quimica Arena, in the 36th round of the Brazilian Championship. After the match, Glorioso coach David Ancelotti commented that he admired his team’s character and that the feeling was that the team was capable of winning the match.

“I think we played a game with a lot of personality, with a lot of courage, which is what I ask of my team, which is trying to play. That means sometimes a mistake can happen, as happened in the first goal. These are things that, if we want to play, can happen, of course they don’t have to happen, but they happened today. (…) I feel that we can win this match, and that we can end the second half with a score of 3 x 1, but after the start, we are satisfied,” the coach said.

With this draw, Botafogo reached its eighth consecutive match without losing. David commented on the sequence, praising Brazilian football and highlighting the role of coaches.

“That’s why going eight games without losing in this tournament is not easy. Now we have to reach 10 games to finish the season well. It’s always difficult to play. The Brazilian League is a very physical team, there are a lot of duels and there are good coaches. It’s difficult to prepare for matches. Here the coach doesn’t have a lot of strength, but the coaches in the Brazilian League are good. That’s also why the Brazilian League dominates South America, not only because it has better players, but also because it has a lot of good coaches.”

In fifth place with 59 points, Botafogo returns to the field on Thursday (12/4), at 7:30 pm, against Cruzeiro, at Mineirão Stadium.
