Yesterday, the wife of former Federal Planning Minister Julio De Vido, Alessandra Minicelli, denounced a series of irregularities and ill-treatment during her visit to the Central Prison Hospital in Ezeiza, where the former official has been detained since Thursday afternoon in a corruption case.
Minicelli stated in a statement that the food provided did not respond to a diet suitable for people with diabetes and insulin dependence: “At breakfast, they served him five loaves of bread, which meant poison to him,” as he put it.
In the same vein, he reported that the detainee asked for hot water to prepare cooked mate, but was refused, as well as a shower.
He also stated that Di Vido could not communicate with the outside because there was only one card phone available, its operation had not been adequately explained to him, and it could only be reached once until 8 p.m.
Minicelli confirmed that her husband also cannot get his usual medications.
