The Federal District paid the social rent to 630 women victims of domestic violence in October 2025, according to the DF Women’s Secretariat.
The program was created in 2024, with the aim of providing financial assistance of R$600 to help women in situations of economic and social vulnerability pay for housing.

The subsidy is granted for a period of six months and can be extended for a similar period. In 2024, the ministry paid R$49,800 to the victims. In 2025, until October, the program cost R$2.2 million.
The program currently requires an urgent safeguard measure in place, among other requirements. The victim must submit the application at the Specialized Women’s Service Center (CEAM), the Women’s Service Center (CAM), the Brazilian Women’s House or the Espaço Acolher.
The Legislative Council of the Federal District (CLDF) on Monday (11/11) approved a draft law that attempts to reduce bureaucracy and speed up the process of granting social rent by allowing access to the program from the moment a police report is registered.
Governor Ibanes Rocha (MDB) said he will analyze the bill drafted by District Rep. Jane Klebia (R) with the technical areas of government to determine whether to impose sanctions on or veto the proposal.
