Swearing in on Thursday (27/11) as the new national president of the PSDB, MP Ecio Neves (MG) made a bit of a statement about the way he reacted to the defeat in the 2014 presidential election.
That year, after being defeated by then-President Dilma Rousseff by a narrow margin of votes, Isseu asked the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) to audit electronic voting machines.

The new president of the Social Democratic Party stated that he would have acted differently today, so as not to create a narrative that the party is encouraging polarization in the country by questioning the ballot boxes.
“Maybe I would have done it differently today to avoid stirring up this narrative. But they can accuse me of everything, except that I’m not a democrat who believes in democracy. I was born into politics in the Diritas campaign,” Isio said.
