According to PJ, the violations allegedly occurred at two different times, within the company’s official facilities: the Fundão Fire Station and the Soalheira Fire Station. The victim, a firefighter under the age of 21, reported that he was subjected to violent sexual acts that the attackers attempted to justify as a form of “practice,” which was supposedly related to performing his first two services with the company.
According to the Portuguese network CNN, the complaint was submitted by the young man himself to investigators.
The Fundão Fire Command supported the complaint and cooperated fully with the authorities, providing information and contributing to the development of the case. According to sources involved in the investigation, the movement ruled out any hypothesis of an attempted institutional cover-up.
This process now falls under the responsibility of the Castelo Branco Prosecutor’s Office, which is conducting the investigation to collect data, evidence and other elements necessary for the investigation.
It is expected that the eleven detainees will be brought before the investigating judge within the next few hours.
