This Wednesday (11/12), Netflix released the documentary Caso Eloá: Refém ao Vivo, which revisits one of the country’s most shocking false imprisonment crimes. In parallel, people close to Eloi Pimentel, who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend Lindemberg Alves, reveal the brutal crime.
Recently, a comment made by Cynthia Pimentel, Elua’s sister-in-law, went viral on social media. She wondered about the relationship between the young woman who died at the age of 15, and Nayyara, who was imprisoned with her friend.

- On October 13, 2008, Lindemberg, then 22, broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend, Elois Christina Pimentel, 15.
- He kept Elwa and her friend Nayara in a private prison for more than 100 hours.
- When the police stormed the apartment, Lindbergh opened fire on the hostages. Nayara was hit in the face and Elwa was unconscious and taken to hospital.
- The girl died hours later, the victim of the two bullets that were fired at her.
- Lindbergh was sentenced to 98 years and 10 months in prison. In 2013, the sentence was reduced to 39 years and three months.
- Lindemberg is imprisoned in Tremembé, inside São Paulo.
Cynthia responded to a netizen’s comment, who said, “I have a question about her friend Nayara. Because they were good friends and we never heard from her again.” Elwa’s sister-in-law answered: “The question is: Were they good friends?”
In another comment, Elwa’s sister-in-law highlighted that Nayara never looked for her family again.

“Without a doubt, I can’t imagine what they went through inside and the trauma it could cause in someone’s life. But imagine losing your daughter and her friend at the time and they never looked for you, they never wrote you a letter… Of course, everyone has their own way of dealing with loss and trauma, but on that side there is also a family that will never be complete again,” she said.
Cintia also claimed that Nayara wanted to meet celebrities shortly after Elua’s murder: “While the family absorbed what had happened without understanding what exactly happened in captivity, the then-boyfriend was asking to meet the player Pato, Caio Castro and the backstage Malhasao.”
“No one downplays or belittles a teenager’s trauma, but it’s not fair to her friends for someone to have a title, if she, her family and all her close friends know it doesn’t match,” Cynthia reiterated.
