
The second day of the National Secondary School Examination (Enem) 2025, held this Sunday (11/16), recorded 30% abstention, according to preliminary data released by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anício Teixeira (Inep).
The percentage was higher than that seen on the first day of testing, last Sunday (9/11), when the percentage reached 27% of those registered, according to Education Minister Camilo Santana.
Camilo reiterated that the year was uneventful for the entrance exam and that he only dealt with some specific issues related to power outages, for which students could request a retake.
In total, 4.8 million students registered for this year’s Enem competition.
What happened on the second day of testing?
The second day of Enem 2025 included 45 questions from the natural sciences and 45 questions from mathematics, all of which link academic concepts to everyday situations.

Enem 2025 has been implemented in 1,804 municipalities. Some cities in Pará – Belém, Ananandua and Maritoba – will have different dates due to the UN Climate Change Conference (COP30). In Rio Bonito do Iguaçu (PR), tests will be carried out in December due to damage caused by the recent hurricane.
The Ministry of Education stressed that the final result of the exam should be released in early 2026.
