Paul Doyle was facing just over 30 charges in court
Former British Navy player Paul Doyle has pleaded guilty to all charges after he ran over hundreds of Liverpool fans who were celebrating their Premier League title win.
The 54-year-old, who had previously denied responsibility for the mass hit-and-run, recanted and pleaded guilty to 31 charges, which include dangerous driving, affray and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
According to the local district attorney’s office, Doyle’s act of violence on May 26, on Water Street, was “intentional.” The attack did not kill anyone, but injured just over 130 people in Liverpool.
British authorities have scheduled a two-day hearing on December 15 and 16, where judges are expected to decide how long Doyle will spend in prison as a result of this incident. .
