Figo calls for another march against Sanchez: “It is the rotten apple” | Spain

The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Nunez Viejo, stressed on Thursday that “what happened today is not an isolated event, nor bad luck, nor a conspiracy by the judiciary,” and in response he decided to call for another demonstration next Sunday. “When all those who raised him go to prison, Sanchez will have to get out of another prison: La Moncloa,” he said. Figo spoke this Thursday at his party’s headquarters in Genoa after Judge Leopoldo Puente’s decision to issue a temporary prison sentence without bail to José Luis Ábalos, former minister and ex-general of the PSOE, and to Koldo García, a close collaborator of Ábalos and Santos Cerdán, considering there to be a “grave risk” of flight. The popular leader continued: “The bad apple is Sanchez. Everything around him has ended in decay. The political responsibility lies with him.”

He added, “100% of the clan members who accompanied Sánchez in his heroic return to politics will end up in prison. This cannot be interpreted as an isolated event. Today Abalos becomes the second organizing secretary of Sánchez to go to prison, including the one who brought him to power, Abalos, and his successor, Cerdan.” Figo called on citizens to march on Sunday in Madrid “against corruption”: “If Sanchez’s partners want to be complicit in all this, they will pay for it, but the majority of Spaniards should not remain silent, or remain drugged.”
