In a match in the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo defeated Santos 3 x 2 on Sunday (11/9). Rubro Negro’s goals were scored by Leo Pereira, Carrascal and Bruno Henrique. Bontempo and Lautaro did it for Pixie. In a press conference, Filipe Luis commented on the goals scored.
“I hate conceding goals. You know me well,” Filipe Luis began, “I place great value on the team’s defensive phase. I firmly believe that defense is the main weapon to win the tournament. It took a lot for us to reach this low number of goals. This fear, we can call it that, may serve as a lesson for us.”
After opening with a 3 x 0 lead, Flamengo conceded two goals from Santos when the lights went out, putting pressure on Rubro Negro, who had to slow the pace until the final whistle of the match.
“In the Brazilian championship and in world football, if you let your guard down for a minute, it will cost you a lot. I’ve already told them. It doesn’t worry me because it’s a separate issue. But yes, it hurts me. I hate for that to happen,” Filipe Luis concluded.
Flamengo plays again on Saturday (11/15). In a postponed match in the 12th round of the Brazilian League, Rubro will visit Negro Sport, at Arena Pernambuco, at 6:30 pm.
