One of the most successful TV series in Brazilian teledrama, Avenida Brasil (2012), received an international version. The series written by João Emanuel Carneiro, known for its revenge-filled plot, has received a Turkish remake and already has a release date to arrive in Brazil.
The series, titled Laila – Shadows of the Past, tells the story of Laila, a young woman seeking revenge on Nour, the woman who destroyed her childhood. The two characters, played by Cemre Pysel and Junca Fuslateri, are based on Nina (Deborah Falabella) and Carminha (Adriana Esteves).
With 127 episodes, the series promises to maintain the essence of the plot of Avenida Brasil, but with an emphasis on the culture and aesthetics of Turkish production, which has become very popular in Brazil.
The production will premiere on November 24 on the Globoplay channel and will also be shown on television on the Globoplay Novelas channel (formerly Viva) from December 15.
