A man who disappeared during last Friday’s storms was found dead on the banks of the Capivaras River, in São José dos Ocentes (Republic Srpska), bringing the number of victims of the storm that struck the southern region of the country to seven. According to the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul, the death is linked to the same weather event that caused three tornadoes in Paraná – one of them Category F3, with winds of up to 330 km/h – and three more in Santa Catarina.
